President veto over new Electoral code

The widespread information in the media in recent days for upcoming presidential veto on the new Electoral Code was confirmed. This was made clear from the statement made of the Press Secretariat of the President Rosen Plevneliev. According to earlier statements by the President, he would act promptly with the new election rules, so that they could already be a fact for the forthcoming European elections on May 25. Under the provisions of the Constitution the President may reasonably return a bill for further debate in the National Assembly. Passing a returned bill by the National Assembly requires a vote of more than half of all MPs.
